Don't go for the food, go for the show! So fun!! Typical bar food (nachos, quesadillas, wings, etc.) and our server was running around so there were times we had to wait for refills. But the hit here is definitely the Drag Show. Very entertaining host(ess) who was hilariously offensive. We couldn't stop laughing!

They have all the best queens and the food is actually really delicious. Plenty of parking structures around even though it's in the congested downtown area of Long Beach.

My mom has earned her wings in heaven. For many reasons, including the fact that she loves me, for all I am, and all I am not. I took her to get a drink to Hamburger Mary's. She is not a lush, I am not one either. I just wanted to show my mom a slice of my world, and show my siblings that I got that mom--- the type of mom that hugs her kid even when she got the one she did not expect. So we get out of the uber. She has cash, she does not have her ID. We go to the bouncer and we explained the facts. I was afraid that we were not going to get in, because she ddi not have her ID. And, phew, they let her in. Then they ran my ID, and then, I was not let in because I was banned. What? Really! Seriously? Why? The manager could not explain the reason why, the manager (used she/her pronouns) explained that there was no note on their computer. But they would not le me in. I never had a brawl fight, I never get loud and aggressive in places. I am loud and stand on my opinion, but never do I get violent. Period. The manger, she did not speak Spanish. But she held the line. They would not let me in but a good reason they did not have. My mom does not speak English, like that, she knows enough to get her money and her Mc Donald's order right. The manager did not speak English so we called a translator, and by chance the translator was a six fot drag queen with bubble gum pink hair. She walks over so my mom could hear the manager say that they had no reason for their dismissal of me. They only knew they had, not sure why. The drag-queen--will call her Violet Cup, did not translate. She judged and gave her opinion. She stood over my mom and explained to her in Spanish, "maybe your son is to embarrass to admit what he did?" I was angry. I was livid, but my mom was there. So I could not embrace the rage of my heart. Violet, would not le me say anything, she rolled her eyes looked at me and said, "I do not know you, you can be a good person, but you can't come in." Remember this was Violet- a performer- not a security guard. She had taken a favor and had become the knight of the place. But I saw my mom, listen to her, listen as she said bad things about me. My mom respected her. My mom tried to explain to Violet, if she knew that I had been the one who had committed the crimes that got me banned. But Violet would not listen. My mom was angry, she worries about me. She thought that I put my safety at risk. I do not. I prioritize safety--- I don't drive when I am too tired, for example, I uber. I saw my mom respect a sibling, even though she was being a jerk. My mom looked at the bubble gum hair, the towing drag queen, and still saw a person who deserved her respect despite what she was saying. Writing this yelp made me feel proud of my mom, humbled by her love and inspired by her progressive sensibilities that are all rooted in love for her son. It is crazy that Mary's forbade us to enter with all that glam afoot. Eventually, after some calls, and stuff, I spoke to the general manager of Mary's and they (their pronouns) let me back in. She explained that typically a place should let a patron know the reason for their ban. I mean duh! I can go deep and explain that they needed to let me know cause do I really want to go to a place that banned me? The general manager and I eventually hugged it out. The lead security knew I had becoming their for years. He thanked me for exposing a flaw in their systems. I mean they should have notes explaining the reason for the ban. Behind it all, I am glad that I saw my mom hear a drag out, and still see that performer with respect in her eyes. I am glad that Mary's exist and for all the wonderful memories this place has provided me. Their cotton candy drink is sugary perfection--- it deserves its own song. I am thinking a remix of Dance of the Sugar Plums? Do not let my sour story paint this place as wrong. They were evolving into the best version of themselves, exactly like so many queer people do. So over all this place, is a pot of gold, at the end of the rainbow or I should say this place is the rainbow, at the end of the rainbow, where gum drops exist in bounty and flair.

If you're looking for a fun night out you should definitely try Mary's. The food is great if for all types of people including picky eaters! For Adults, the drinks are fairly good but some might be slightly watered down. The drag shows are pretty elaborate and create such a entertaining environment for anyone who hasn't experienced seeing queens before! Definitely recommend

A lovely evening for sure. Good food, excellent service and amazing show! The only negative is the extra door charge even for people with a reserved vip table. We, the two of us are already committed to a $300.00 evening for drinks food and tipping 20% to the server and the performers. I'm always glad to be there to support the art of Drag. I'm grateful to have such a fun venue.
